Blogpost 4: Free Topic

I'm going to take this opportunity to tell you about one of my favorite books and it's called "A Happy World". The book is science fiction and was written in 1932 by Aldous Huxley but when I read it it was as if the author was from our time because what he relates is quite similar to our reality, if you read it you will see that what I say makes quite a lot of sense, however it relates a utopian and technological world.
As the name implies, the book recounts a "happy world" where all people are controlled by a system called the World State. People are divided into castes from highest to lowest (Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons) where Alphas were handsome and smart while Epsilons were ugly and foolish, dividing society by economic and social hierarchy. The most important thing about this is that everyone used a drug called "soma" that causes an escape from reality, taking away all freedom and individuality from each person. In the World State, sex is informal and something very casual "everyone belongs to everyone", they were all infertile (humans are grown in test tubes) and family relationships doesn't exist.

Anyway, I could continue making a summary of the book but that is not the idea, you can read it and tell me what you think.
But if all this is about dehumanization and an imposition on happiness, What makes us human?

Blogpost 3: My favorite Piece of Technology

Anyone who knows me would think that my favorite piece of technology is my cell phone because it is what I use the most, but it's not, my favorite piece of technology is my mini-component. They gave it to me when I turned 14 years old (yes, it's a bit old), back then I was a fan of a band called One Direction and I had all their records but I had nowhere to listen to so that's why they gave it to me. However, over the years I have continued to use it very frequently, I use it when I study, when i clean, sometimes I connect it to my television so that the movies are heard better.

I like it because listening to music increases my spirits, motivates me, I feel that it complements me. Life without my mini-component would be very boring for me, because listening to music is something very important in my life and not only listening to it but also for the good quality that is heard with the mini-component, also the bass can be heard very well.

Blogpost 2: Why did I choose my major?

When I was little I wanted to be a Stewardess because I liked the uniform and also planes and traveling the world caught my attention, but I grew up and I didn't like that idea anymore.

It all started when I was a little girl and I didn't like brushing my teeth, so I started to visit the dentist constantly and seeing that they didn't treat me very well (they were very neglected or in a bad mood), I thought about studying Dentistry to change that and treat my patients as well as possible, also later I started to take good care of my teeth and I liked that. But not only did I like Dentistry, I also liked helping animals and wanted to study Veterinary Medicine.

When I was approximately 17 years old, I liked Obstetrics because helping women was something that I liked and also just at that moment my mom got pregnant. So among my options were also Obstetrics and Veterinary medicine but my first option was always Dentistry.
I would like to work in public places like a CESFAM to help people who find it difficult to access a private consultation and help them to have better quality public health.

I’ve always liked helping others.

Blogpost 1: My biographyツ

Hi:)
My name is Fernanda González Franco, I was born on January 22, 2001 in Santiago de Chile but most of my family is from the Araucanía region so we are constantly traveling there.

When I was little my parents separated so I had to go live with my mom, now I live with her, my grandparents and my brothers, I also have 3 pets, a dog, a cat and a turtle and I love spending time with them. I really like animals so I decided to be a vegetarian, I also tattooed a kitten on my arm and when I was little I wanted to be a Veterinary Doctor.

I started my studies at a school called “Lo Franco” as my last name, then I studied at “Carmela Carvajal de Prat” high school and there I finished my studies, I was always good at Math and Biology but not at Language and History, I never really liked the humanities. When I took the test for the first time to enter the University, it didn’t go so well so I waited another year to prepare myself better and be able to enter the career that I wanted, Dentistry.
